A rural road on the outskirts of Preston has been shut as strong winds lash the city.
Lancashire Police have closed Garstang Road (A586) at St Michael’s on the Wyre.
The road is closed between the Grapes pub and the Avenue Churchtown.
It’s due to a fallen tree.
A diversion route is in place into Hall Lane for traffic heading towards Churchtown.

Gusts of 40 mph are being experienced overnight with rain expected throughout Saturday (8 December).
The weather is expected to stay wet and windy throughout Saturday before a calmer Sunday.
