Firefighters tackle blaze at New Hall Lane takeaway

Firefighters were called to a blaze at a takeaway in New Hall Lane this afternoon (Friday December 7) amid fears a person was trapped inside.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were called at 12.54pm to a fire in a ground floor kitchen.

Two crews from Preston, a crew from Penwortham and a crew from Fulwood attended the scene and extinguished the fire.

Fortunately there were no casualties.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
