A major retail park in Preston is to turn on its Christmas lights during Saturday (1 December).
Deepdale Shopping Park is running the switch on concert in aid of the Baby Beat Appeal.
Preston-based radio station Beat Radio are organising the event and it includes performances from X Factor contestant Charlotte Lily, the Fever Dance group, Preston Carnival dancers and soul singer Renee.
Preston school choirs will also perform and there will be appearances by Coronation’s Street Scott Wright and Hollyoaks Paul Burke.
The Baby Beat Appeal has been running for 31 years and raises funds for the two maternity units and neo-natal units at Royal Preston Hospital and Chorley Hospital.
Charity manager Karen Entwistle said: “The charity relies heavily on donations in order to support the three units with cutting edge equipment. Preston and Chorley hospitals have excellent facilities however Baby Beat’s funding allow the units to have access to the very latest equipment which supports pregnant ladies ante-natally, babies coming into this world and also babies requiring specialist care if born prematurely or poorly following delivery.”

The Christmas lights switch on starts at 3pm and finishes at 6pm, with competitions taking place and prizes to be given out.

Baby Beat our nominated charity, works so hard, year in year out helping lots of families throughout the region,so putting on a show like this is our way of helping.”
