Police last week released an initial CCTV picture and a 53-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and has now been releasing under investigation pending further enquiries.

A second man is now being sought in connection with the attack.

Detective Constable Dan Armstrong of Preston CID said: “Following an earlier appeal for information we have now identified a man we wanted to speak to in connection with the assault.

“It is now believed a second man is linked to the attack and we want to identify him. He is wearing a distinctive silver jacket.

“If you know who he is, please come forward.”

Anyone with information should contact police on (01772) 209745 or email 4276@lancashire.pnn.police.uk quoting log number 0142 of December 20.

The attack is the second in recent weeks outside the Old Dog pub.
