Arson attack on car near a Preston pub

A car was set on fire behind a Preston pub during Christmas Day.

Firefighters from Preston and Penwortham Station attended the incident around 9.23pm on Christmas Day (Tue 25 December).

They found a car alight on the roadside near the city’s university campus.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service put out the fire in Stocks Street, down the side of the Ships and Giggles pub off Fylde Road.

No one was hurt in the fire but firefighters say the fire was started deliberately and have referred the incident to the police for an arson investigation.
