Preston Police have issued a warning after controlled drugs were stolen from a pharmacy in Ashton.

At around 6am on Monday October 29, thieves broke into Rowlands Pharmacy in Blanche Street and stole a quantity of Tramadol.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “We would like to remind people never to accept or take any prescription medication from other members of the public. Medication that is not prescribed for you can have serious and/or life changing effects on you.”

Tramadol is a prescription only painkiller which was reclassified under the Misuse of Drugs Act in 2014 in a bid to reduce deaths from the drug.

Anyone with information about the burglary or the drugs which were stolen is asked to call 101 quoting incident number LC-20181029-0148.
