Land which includes a Parish Hall, bowling green and church club in Fulwood is being sold.
St Martin’s Parish Hall, the Bowling Green, Church Club and a Guide Centre will soon be redeveloped, making way for new houses.
The land sold to finance the new build will be developed into 14 properties comprising nine two-bed apartments for over 55s.

There will be four semi-detached houses and one detached house.
A new but smaller Parish Centre will be developed on the land.
The land that the Guide Centre sits on will be used as the access to the planned houses and will be demolished.
A spokesperson for the Northway Guiders said: “As you may think, we were devastated by this news, the Guide Hut was built following endless fundraising by local people who had vision and dedication, and the Guide Hut has been the Centre of Guiding activities for over 40 years providing amazing opportunities and fun activities for the girls in this area.
“We have sought advice and support from the Girlguiding legal team in relation to where we stand and how we work the PCC decision in the coming months. We want to reassure you that Guiding will continue, weekly meetings will not be affected, and we are proactively looking for alternative accommodation for all Units to carry on the amazing activities Girlguiding has to offer.”

A meeting will be held for the public in the form of an ‘open afternoon’ on Sunday 11 November at 2pm.
It will take place in the Parish Hall, when there will be in-depth presentations about the plans with opportunities for questions and answers.
Initial designs and plans for the new St Martin’s complex and housing development will be available to view.
The Guiders will be attending the meeting.
They have assured people that Guiding will continue, weekly meetings will not be affected, and they are proactively looking for alternative accommodation for all Units to carry on the amazing activities Girlguiding has to offer.
