The city centre fell quiet as the 11th hour of the 11th day was reached.

Preston’s Remembrance event saw a large crowd brave the weather for the service on the Flag Market.

Hundreds of military and emergency service personnel marched by the balcony of the Harris ahead of the remembrance service.

Wreaths were laid at the Cenotaph to mark 100 years since the end of the First World War.

Knitted poppies adorned the Cenotaph and a Tommy figure, which are dotted throughout the city, was also looking on at the poppies and remembrance event.

Michael Porter’s pictures show the scale of the service and the poignant moments throughout Remembrance Sunday.
