A new independent travel agents is opening up a Preston shopping centre.

St George’s Shopping Centre is to be home to Book In Style which is expanding to the city.

The £50,000 investment has seen an empty shop between H&M and Greggs on the ground floor renovated.

Six jobs have been created by the new premises which are due to open to the public on Saturday (1 December).

Chief executive Andrew McKenna said: “We’re really excited to be opening our newest travel agents in Preston in the fantastic St George’s Shopping Centre. Book in Style is an independent travel agent, and it is a North West company at its core, so becoming a part of the Preston community was important to us, as it’s the hub of Lancashire.

“Preston is a vibrant and diverse city, so we’re really looking forward to being a part of it and bringing the people of Preston the best deals possible on their holidays.

“As an independent travel agent, we don’t just sell our own packages, we take prices from everywhere to find you the best deal, which allows us to bring customers even more fantastic holiday deals.”

The travel agents already operate in Formby, Southport and Leyland.

At the opening of the Preston store there will be free food, prosecco, children’s activities and more from 12noon onwards.

St George’s shopping centre manager Andrew Stringer said: “We are delighted to welcome Book in Style into the centre. The addition will certainly enhance the existing offer we have at the centre as it will be the only travel agents at the scheme.”
