Work on cleaning up part of Ashton-on-Ribble has begun.
The Love Ashton group, set up on Facebook, has gone offline to help spruce up a patch of land in front of the Space Centre in Watery Lane.
Preston City Council responded to requests from Ashton councillor Liz Atkins to clear the pathway from Powis Road to Pedders Lane the previous week.
A group of residents braved the chilly temperatures to tackle the remaining brambles, clear the verge of litter and took green waste to the tip.

Powis Road resident Stephen Forshaw said: “We’re really grateful to councillor Atkins for requesting action from the Parks Department as the brambles were seriously impeding people walking along the path.
“We appreciate that funding is scarce at the council and so we decided to set to and continue what they had started.”
