Latest plans for a new housing development off D’urton Lane have been lodged.

Beck Homes are eyeing up land off the road where it goes under the M55 motorway.

29 homes could be built by the Lancashire-based property developers.

The plot of land currently sits behind a large detached house and garden.

19 of the homes would be four-bedrooms or larger with three two-bedroom properties and seven three-bedroom houses.

A statement from Green Square Architects who have drawn up plans for the scheme states: “The scheme now proposed would not be out of place and has been carefully designed to relate to the scale and appearance of other buildings along D’Urton Lane, whilst at the same time respecting its well landscaped setting in order to both compliment and screen the new dwellings.

“This, in turn, ensures that the proposal would not materially impair the quality of the countryside setting but would also offer landscape benefits by replacing outworn buildings and a mix of commercial uses by more appropriate housing development.

“The proposal takes account of the scale, siting and use of the adjacent private hospital development and envisages no conflict in terms of nuisance or loss of privacy.”
