M6 traffic: Two crashes cause motorway chaos with man in hospital

There have been two separate incidents on the M6 this evening

There are issues on the M6 this evening after two separate crashes.

One man is in hospital as a result of one incident while the second is a collision involving five vehicles.

The first incident happened around junction 32 of the M6 northbound just before 6pm.

A spokesperson from Preston Police said of the first incident: “J32 of the M6 northbound is closed due to a collision.

“A 60-year-old man has been taken to Royal Preston Hospital with suspected chest injuries.

“We have closed a section of the motorway off whilst we investigate what happened. We will open it as soon as we can.”

The second incident, which happened between junction 31 and 31A, involved five vehicles and was reported by motorway police at around 7.18pm.

Emergency services are currently on their way to the scene.
