Preston’s Christmas Lights are to be switched on during a glitzy ceremony on the Flag Market.

Thousands of people are expected to line the city’s public square to see Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd and CBeebies star Andy Day flick the switch.

Live music and performances begin from 5.45pm on Saturday (24 November) with the lights being turned on around two hours after this.

The stars of this year’s panto, Cinderella at the Guild Hall, will also be out and about around the Flag Market.

Free parking is available from 3pm in the Market Hall car park for those going to the switch on.
