A city centre bar is playing host to the first #DigitalMeetupPreston.

The event is a chance for anyone interested in digital marketing to meet like-minded people.

Mark Preston who runs an SEO agency explained why he had set up the event.

He said: “I have attended a few digital meetups around the UK myself and one thing I noticed is that each meetup tried to get the big speaker names at
their event. This is great but it didn’t really feel like a local meetup.

“When I put the feelers out to inform people that I was thinking about launching a local meetup, the response was fantastic and it became evident that this was needed within Preston and the surrounding areas.

“I then decided that my meetup would be different, as I wanted my attendees to decide what they want to learn and who they want to listen to. Armed with this, I set out to put it all together.”

Three speakers are lined up to talk about online video, online dating and the rise of AI.

The Digital Meetup is free to attend and Mark hopes to make it a regular event.

It’s on Wednesday (21 November) from 7pm at Fives bar in Guildhall Street.
