Preston’s most infamous inanimate feature has claimed another driver – and its not even on the roads.

Fishergate Bollard’s base structure saw a white VW become stranded on it during the Friday morning rush hour.

Alan Murray snapped the prang shortly before 8am on Friday (16 November).

The bollard, which has been missing in action for months, is still catching out drivers who head over the plinth’s structure.

The Bollard was last in position during the May Bank Holiday weekend when it was skittled down Fishergate Hill.

A Freedom of Information Request by Blog Preston showed how it cost more than £300 to replace the bollard each time it was knocked down.

No one is thought to have been hurt in the collision and no date has been set for when the bollard itself will return to Fishergate.
