Carol concerts across Preston for Christmas 2018

Christmas is fast approaching and what better way to get in the festive mood than with singing your heart out at a carol concert?

Lucky for Prestonians, there are plenty of concerts being held in and around the city for you to pop along to.

Here’s a run down on the ones we know about:

Winckley Square Gardens

Get down to the iconic Winckley Square Gardens on Sunday 2 December for some festive fun.

Taking place from 3.30pm – 6.30pm, St Stephens Choir will be leading the traditional Christmas Carols followed by the One Voice Community Choir.

Mulled wine and hot chocolate will also be on hand to keep you warm, along with mince pies, parched peas and hot soup.

The event is free to attend and open to everyone.

St Anthony’s Catholic Church, Fulwood

St Anthony’s Singers

A fantastic Carol concert is to take place at St Anthony’s Catholic Church, just of Cadley Causeway, on Sunday 9 December.

With heart warming Christmas carolsĀ from 2pm, everyone is welcome to pop along and get in the festive mood.

The free event will be followed by mince pies, hot drinks, a raffle and a sing along to all your favourite Christmas songs ledĀ by the Lost and Found Community Choir in the school hall.

Lostock Hall Memorial Band, Goosnargh

The Stags Head in Goosnargh will be joined by the Lostock Hall Memorial Band on Sunday 9 December from 12.30pm – 4pm.

The concert will be the second annual concert lead by the band and is promised to get you in the Christmas mood.

St John’s Minster, Church Street

Visit the Minster this year for a special Christmas concert and market event on Saturday 8 December from 12pm – 6pm.

The free event promises a day packed full of entertainment, beautiful stalls and festive treats.

Red RosettesĀ Festive Concert, Leyland

The Red Rosettes are inviting you to celebrate the season in harmony with them on Sunday 9 December from 2pm.

Taking place at Leyland Methodist Junior School, set the festivities in motion by singing some Christmas carols.

Adult tickets are priced at Ā£5 and children can attend from Ā£3.

Join St Walburge’s Church on Wednesday 12 December from 6pm for a fantastic concert of Christmas Carols.

Sing your heart out and help celebrate the season.

Gibbon Bridge Hotel, Chipping

Why not try carols and a chippy tea at Gibbon Bridge Hotel on Friday 21 December?

A fish a chip supper will be provided at the event from 7pm – 11pm, followed by yourĀ favourite carols.

You can also stay the night at a very special accommodation rates.

Adult prices are at Ā£20 and children can attend for Ā£7.50.

The Continental

Preston’s famous pub will be hosting carols with St Stephen’s Choir on Sunday 23 December from 8.30pm.

The free entry event is perfect in the lead up to the big day with an evening full of traditional carols.

The event is usually busy so it is advised to book ahead if you intend on dining.

St Michael and All Angels Church, Ashton

Preston Orpheus Choir is set to hit the stage along with the Freckleton Brass Band on Saturday 8 December from 7pm.

Taking place at St Michael and All Angels Church in Ashton, tickets are priced from Ā£10 for adults and Ā£5 for under 18s.

Tickets can be purchased on the door but to avoid disappointment you can reserve them by calling 01772 735197.

Hoghton Tower, Hoghton

Christmas tours and carols will be hosted at Hoghton Tower on Sunday 9 December.

From 3pm – 5.15pm, you can tour the decorated tower and then continue the in the magnificent Banqueting Hall, featuringĀ the tower’sĀ stunning Christmas tree.

In the Hall, the Hoghton in Harmony choir will join you as they sing a selection of Christmas carols.

The cost of the event is Ā£25 per person.

Central Methodist Church, Lune Street

Central Methodist Church is presenting two opportunities for you toĀ sing along to your favourite carols this Christmas with family and friends.

On Thursday 20 December at 7pm, on the church steps you can take part in BBC Radio ā€˜Lancashire Sings Christmasā€™ for an hour.

Or if you can’t make it, then a carol service will be held on Christmas EveĀ inside the church at 4pm to get the celebrations off to a great start.
