Two people were taken to hospital after a collision in Ribbleton last night.
Police closed the junction of Ribbleton Avenue and Blackpool Road following to a two-car crash.
Emergency services attended the scene and the occupants of one car were taken to hospital.
The extent of their injuries is unknown but it is not believed they suffered major medical trauma.
The collision happened shortly after 6pm on Monday (12 November).
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service used cutting equipment to free one of the occupants of one of the cars.
A spokesman for the police said: “We have had to close a section of the road to allow the emergency services access the area. Please expect some delays in the area and if possible choose an alternative route. We will re open the road as soon as we can.”

The road is expected to remain closed for several hours and long delays are being experienced on surrounding routes and back towards Deepdale retail park and New Hall Lane.
This follows a crash on Sunday (11 November) just yards away at the same junction.
