Visit Santa in his grotto, take a spin on the ice rink, browse the seasonal stalls and tuck into delicious festive food and mulled wine from The Mill Outside – the catering service of the hospiceā€™s popular onsite cafĆ©, The Mill.

There will also be live music throughout the weekend, a fairground, craft fair, games and the Christmas Raffle – which has an amazing Ā£4,000 jackpot.

On Sunday morning, the Blackburn Hawks ice hockey team will be taking to the ice rink for a thrilling penalty shoot-out, and will be available for photographs and signings with visitors.

Lorraine Charlesworth, director of community and income at St Catherineā€™s, said: ā€œOur Christmas Festival is a fantastic event and is always greatly supported and enjoyed by our communities.

ā€œFundraising events like this help us in our efforts to care for local people with life-shortening illnesses at the hospice, out in the community, and in peopleā€™s own homes, so it would be great to see lots of visitors getting into the Christmas spirit next weekend whilst showing support for their local hospice.ā€

Visitors not arriving on foot are asked to use the free park and ride shuttle bus service from the Leyland Trucks car park on Croston Road.

The main entrance to the hospice will be closed to vehicles throughout the festival ā€“ on-site parking is limited to visitors to the hospiceā€™s in-patient unit and disabled festival goers, who are asked to access via Todd Lane South and St Catherineā€™s Way.
