A sign Christmas is definitely on the way was made in Preston city centre this week.

Preston’s Christmas tree is going into position on the balcony of the Harris Museum and Art Gallery.

Standing tall it will look on across the Flag Market as the Christmas lights are switched on during Saturday 24 November.

The tree is now a feature on the balcony after a previous attempt at having a tree on the Flag Market itself saw the tree vandalised on numerous occasions.

The city’s Christmas lights will be turned on by Coronation Street star David Platt played by Jack P Shepherd.
