Part of a supermarket car park at Preston Docks is to become a drive-thru coffee shop.
Morrisons has applied to convert part of its car park into a Starbucks outlet.
Proposals from ELG Planning have been lodged with Preston City Council.
They show how dozens of spaces on the eastern edge of the car park would be built on for the Starbucks unit.
It would be close to the car park entrance and exit with Mariner’s Way, opposite Mothercare.

Planning documents state: “The proposals will facilitate the redevelopment of an underutilised area of the existing Morrisons car park and will therefore promote the more efficient use of a previously developed and highly accessible site within the main urban area.
“The application proposals will also provide enhanced local facilities for local residents, shoppers and motorists on Riversway and would generate a
number of job opportunities for local people and the employment and economic benefits associated with the proposals should be afforded significant weight in the assessment of the proposals.”
