St Catherine’s Hospice is set to take their annual Light Up A Life event online this year with a digital remembrance book.
The event will also be held over two nights for the first time, to encourage more local people to take part.
Light Up A Life offers people a way to honour their loved ones over the festive season by dedicating a light in the grounds of St Catherineās Park to their memory. Proceeds raised from the tributes help to support the charity’s workĀ providing palliative and end-of-life care for theĀ people of Chorley, Preston and South Ribble.

Lorraine Charlesworth, director of community and income at St Catherineās Hospice, said: “Light Up A Life is one of our most poignant occasions, which our communities really value.
“It provides a meaningful opportunity for our supporters to come together and remember their loved ones in a welcoming and tranquil environment. It also raises vital funds to cover our specialist care, helping people to live in comfort and with dignity at Christmas and beyond.
“This year, weāre holding the dedication event over two nights to give even more people the opportunity to join us in paying tribute to their loved ones. Weāre also publishing a digital version of the special Light Up A Life remembrance book on our website for the first time.
“This will mean people who donāt live in the area or who are unable to visit the hospice can view it online from wherever they are. This is really important as we receive dedications from all over the world in memory of local people.”
