Police appeal after sexual assault on train at Preston Station

Police are appealing to trace a man after a woman was sexually assaulted on a train.

The incident took place around 6.50pm on 28 September.

A man approached a 42-year-old woman as the train waited at Preston Station on its way to Manchester Oxford Road.

He tried to engage her in conversation and then sexually assaulted her.

He was later thrown off the train by the guard.

British Transport Police say the man in the CCTV picture may have information which could help their enquiries.

Anyone who recognises him or witnessed the incident should contact BTP by calling 0800405040 or texting 61016 quoting reference 596 of 02/10/18.
