A new shop is bringing coffee beans, loose leaf teas, locally made chocolates and more to Penwortham high street.
The Courtyard was opened in August by business partners Bill Parkinson and Charlotte Devlin.
Bill said: “We offer teas and coffees in their natural form from all over the world. The idea is customers can come in, grab a jar, take the lid off and see if they like the smell.”
Jars line the shelves of the shop with coffee flavours including Orange Mocha, Banoffee Pie and Irish Cream. Beans are measured by weight, ground to the required coarseness depending on how the customer will be brewing their coffee, and then bagged. Teas range from fruity options like lemon and lime green tea to blends such as Russian Caravan.
Bill continued: “We’re increasing stock as we go along and choosing as much local produce as we can. For example we’ve got Choc Amor chocolates from Mawdesley, and Mr Fitzpatrick’s Vintage Cordials from Haslingden. We also have Frederick’s Ice Cream from Chorley; we’re very lucky to be selling those.”
