Man approached by group and punched in the face in city centre assault

The incident in question happened near Preston Railway Station

Lancashire Police is appealing for information after a man was the victim of an early morning assault in Preston city centre.

A 21-year-old man, from Nelson, was walking close to Preston Railway Station when he was approached by a group of men who have been described as ‘heavy set’.

He was knocked to the floor where he was then hit in the face.

The incident happened yesterday (October 28) morning at around 6.21am.

DC Andy Forsyth, of Preston CID, said: “We are trying to piece together exactly what has happened to this man and why, so we would appreciate anyone who may have witnessed the assault or the group of men walking through the city centre to get in touch.”
