A man and woman have been arrested in connection with a shotgun blast in Preston during the early hours of Tuesday (23 October) morning.
Preston Police closed off Browning Road, off Ribbleton Avenue, in the St Matthews area, from 2am after a single shot from a shotgun fired through the door of a house.
No one was hurt in the shooting and police say they believe it is a targeted incident.
A 38-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, both from Preston, have been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. They remain in custody. Two men have also been arrested on Wednesday evening.
Police say they have also recovered a vehicle used in the incident. No details have been given on the type of vehicle.
Detective chief inspector Richard McCutcheon said: “This is a fast moving investigation and we have made significant progress. Although we have arrested two people our enquiries are still on-going and I would continue to appeal to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious or who has information which could assist to get in touch.
