A female cyclist is in hospital with serious injuries after coming off her bike.

She was going along Aqueduct Street towards Plungington Road around 9.30pm on Wednesday (3 October).

North West Ambulance Service said a woman in her 40s was taken to Royal Preston Hospital.

Police said no other vehicles were involved in the incident.

A spokeswoman for the ambulance service described her injuries as ‘serious’.
