Broughton roadworks have been extended for another week

A major road closure in Broughton will continue for another week.

A section of Garstang Road near James Towers Way was originally closed at 6am on Monday 10 September for a month.

The closure was due to Lancashire County Council constructing a ‘new gateway’ into the village with a new granite paved section of road.

Now, due to a problem with a delivery of materials, the roadworks have been extended for another week.

They will last until Friday 19 October.

A spokesperson for Lancashire County Council said: “Due to an issue with a delivery of materials for the improvement work on Garstang Road in #Broughton, the northbound road closure near the junction with James Towers Way will remain in place for another week – until Friday 19 October.”
