Blackpool Road roadworks have been extended for another week.
Four-way traffic lights have been put in place whilst United Utilities are installing a new section of sewer at the junction with Greaves Town Lane, Lea, to bring an end to the regular flooding.
These new traffic signals were installed in late July and were originally in place for nearly five weeks, until Friday 7 September.

However, Lancashire County Council extended the roadworks permit by another four weeks until Friday 5 October.
This was due to a problem with an underground culvert was causing the flooding.
Now, it is being extended another week, until Friday 12 October.
A spokesperson for United Utilities said: “We expect to be finished by next Friday 12 October.
“We discovered a lot of uncharted pipes and services in the junction with Greaves Town Lane which slowed our progress down.
“Our engineers have been in contact with the local businesses to inform them about the delay.”
