Emergency services closed a section of Acregate Lane in Fishwick during Tuesday afternoon after a fire threatened to spread to a building.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were called at 4.28pm to a fire involving rubbish at the back of buildings in New Hall Lane bordering Acregate Lane.
A spokesman for the fire service said ‘for a time the fire threatened to spread to property and fire crews called police to help locate an owner for access’.
The fire was put out and crews were on scene for around an hour.

The road was fully reopened shortly before 6pm.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
