Watch as Ye Olde Hob Inn fire is tackled

Six fire crews remain in Bamber Bridge as they try to control the fire in the thatched roof of a pub.

Ye Olde Hob Inn was reported as being on fire shortly before 3.30pm on Wednesday (26 September).

Footage shows the scale of the emergency services response on the scene in Church Road, which remains closed.

Harry Taylor passed the footage to Blog Preston of the smoke billowing from the popular pub, you can see that below

 

Station Road remains open but drivers are being urged by the fire service to avoid the area if possible.

Latest pictures from the scene suggest the fire has now been brought under control at the pub. There’s no estimate for what the scale of the damage is from the fire.

A spokeswoman for the fire service said: “Crews have used fog spikes to help prevent the fire spreading.

“They are now working on removing areas of thatch that were involved in the fire.”
