More than 40 bands and acts have been signed up to play across the city in one day and night of live music.
North by North West sees 14 different venues hosting bands or performers during Saturday 22 September.
Taking place the same weekend as the Lancashire Encounter Festival it means the likes of the Preston Minster and Action Records are hosting gigs at the same time as more traditional venues such as Blitz and The Ferret.
Headliners include The Sherlocks, Jaguar Skills and Karen Harding.
Co-ordinated by the Preston At Night group, from Preston’s Business Improvement District, the event is also backed by Cool Media Marketing.

Blitz’s Peter Alexander said: “There is something very special about live music, Preston is fortunate to have a vibrant music scene, and putting an event like North By North West to showcase musicians, in various venues around the city, is going to make for a very exciting day.
“I am proud that so many of Preston city centre’s pubs, bars and clubs have collaborated to make this event possible. I hope that this year’s North By North West celebration is a springboard for more live music in Preston and bigger events in the future.”
Preston BID’s Mark Whittle said: ‘It’s a first for the city and we’re very much looking forward to bringing this event to life – the venues involved have worked tirelessly to make North By North West a great event – we hope that they can rely on the support of gig go’ers and Preston residents by attending some of the brilliant performances.”
Dan Morris from LiVe at The Guild Hall, staging ALTR at the Minster, said: ‘There’s some amazing names on the bill for North By North West – the city has pulled out all the stops to bring some top bands, singers, musicians and DJ’s to Preston. The city will be buzzing that weekend.”
