A new pub is opening in a Preston city centre street as what used to be O’Neill’s departments.
The Irish themed bar became Shenanigans last year and has now been bought out by the Amber Taverns group.
They are re-branding the pub as The Northern Way and promise some ‘great Northern hospitality’.
Workers are currently gutting the Friargate pub and giving it a whole new look and feel inside.

There’s scaffolding up on the outside with banners stating ‘there is another way’.
Operator of The Northern Way Oliver Mattinson said: “We are transforming the old O’Neills pub to become a vibrant town centre bar with a focus on great Northern hospitality.
“We’ll be open all day every day and have the capacity to show a multitude of sports on a number of TV locations around the bar.
“There will be an extensive drinks menu which is still being researched and tested on our Northern Guinea Pigs – we will have everyday alcoholic beverages and twists on classic libations.”
The pub is due to open in mid-October.
