Fire crews stabilise house after driver crashed into wall in Eldon Street

Part of a street in the Ashton-on-Ribble area of the city has been taped off following a crash.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were called to stabilise a house after a driver crashed into the property.

The crash took place at the junction of Eldon Street and Inkerman Street.

Preston Police and the North West Ambulance Service were also called to the scene just after 12.30am on Sunday (2 September).

No one in the house was hurt and a number of people in the car were treated for minor injuries.

Four fire crews worked to ensure the building was structurally safe with the road closed until the early hours of Sunday morning.
