Car and van badly damaged in fire in Ribbleton

A mechanic saw his day’s work go up in flames in Ribbleton during Tuesday lunchtime.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a car fire around 1.45pm on Tuesday (25 September).

According to an onlooker the mechanic had been working on the vehicle which was still attached to the van used to tow the broken down vehicle.

The incident took place close to Greenlands Community Primary School in Dawnay Road.

No one is thought to be hurt in the fire but both vehicles have sustained severe fire damage.

One fire crew from Preston Fire Station attended.
