A power cut in the Ribbleton area has left many homes and businesses without power today (Sunday 9 September).
Engineers were called out to the area at around 9.38am to investigate a fault in the substation and have been working to try and restore power.

A total of 479 properties have been affected by the incident.
Update: Electricity North West now estimate that power will be restored by 10.30pm as engineers are waiting for a new generator to arrive on site.
A spokesperson for Electricity North West said: “The Ribbleton area of Preston is affected due to a fault in the substation. Engineers are on site and they have estimated to have everyone back on supply by 8pm via alternative means whilst we repair our equipment.”
The company initially warned customers via Twitter and apologised for the power cut. It said: “Apologises we are aware of a #PowerCut in #PR2 #Ribbleton, engineers are on route to investigate the issue. If you DM you full address, postcode and a mobile number, we can keep you updated via text.”
Electricity North West said: “We do apologise about the power cut in #PR2 #PRESTON Engineers are on site fixing the issue and they are estimating to have all properties back on supply by 20.00.”
