The Dark Ages came to life as actors dressed as Vikings set up camp on the Flag Market.

Tents were strung up, helmets worn and horns blown as they explained to interested visitors what life was like more than 1,000 years ago.

The event, which ran from 12noon to 4pm, is the latest in the Summer Saturdays events.
