One of Preston’s most popular events is taking a break for this year.

The Continental Beer Festival, which had been taking place each summer and autumn, at the South Meadow Lane pub, is having a ‘fallow year’.

Like Glastonbury the festival organisers have decided they need a year to recover.

Last year’s festivals saw more than 200 different ales brought into the pub, along with craft beers, gins and proseccos.

The festival, which began in 2008, will return in 2019.

It’s grown to feature live music on all three days as well as a large selection of food alongside the pub’s usual offering.
