A Preston band who have been enjoying airplay on national radio will be launching their debut EP with a Hallowe’en Extravaganza.
AdvertisementDollymops, who describe themselves as an experimental punk outfit, released E.P. 1 on 8 August. Since then the record has been played by BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6.
Tom Robinson of BBC Radio 6 Music said of E.P 1: “What a genius record. It’s extreme, wild, ragged, and huge fun.”
The Hallowe’en launch event will take place at The Ferret on Fylde Road on 27 October.

Band member Ric Birtill said: “We have booked a hand-selected collection of kooky bands, and will be decorating the place like an asylum – think Glastonferret, but weird and dark. DJs will be playing classic Hallowe’en hits into the night.
“We will also be doing a full band arrangement of The Beetlejuice theme, which we reckon has never been done by a band before!”
According to the band’s Facebook page: “Dollymops blend a vicious mix of trebly riffs and ferocious bass lines, combined with ear bleeding drums. They explode on stage causing an intense mix of energy and power. Their infectious riffs and cutting lyrics, mixed with high vibrato screams create a melting pot of mayhem.”
Also appearing at the launch will be Poly-Math, Tayne and All Hail Hyena. Attendees are encouraged to wear their creepiest, goriest or most disturbing attire.
