A Preston art shop is holding a “meet the artists” open day with spray painting demos, caricature workshops and a Facebook Live auction.
The Rachel Joyner – Art & Upcycled Furniture shop on Garstang Road has been open for six months. A few weeks ago owner Rachel Joyner put out an appeal to find artists and crafts people to help the shop become a north west hub of creative talent.
Rachel said: “I’m now happy to be sharing the space with a fantastic bunch of talented and versatile artists – we’ve got needlecraft specialists, a fine artist, a tattooist, caricature artists and a photographer.
“There is such a variety of work available from the shop that I really want people to come and see it. So to mark the end of the shop’s first six months, I’m inviting the public to come along for a fun day of arts and crafts appreciation.”

Six pieces of artwork will be available at auction, including via a Facebook Live, with reserve prices starting at £15.
Rachel’s five-year-old daughter Robyn will also be in on the act, running loom band workshops throughout the day.
Rachel said: “No doubt she’ll run the workshops until she gets bored and needs to get her fix of My Little Pony on Netflix! But she’s actually a very good teacher and loom banding is really quite therapeutic.”
The open day is taking place on Saturday 1 September from 10am to 5pm. For more information, visit the Facebook event page.
