A group of teenagers from Preston have taken over an empty shop in Preston city centre.

The unit opposite HMV in St George’s Shopping Centre has become a pop-up mental health in children awareness shop.

Eight 16-year-olds used the space to gain signatures for their petition encouraging schools in Preston to run parents evenings informing parents of the signs to look out for and how they and their children can get help.

Part of the National Citizen Service, the voluntary development programme for teenagers in England, Hattie Smith and friends decked out the shop.
