A man who was living in a tent behind a shop has been stabbed in Penwortham.

The victim, in his early 30s, was taken to Royal Preston Hospital following the incident on Tuesday (14 August) evening.

South Ribble Police confirmed they were called at 7.23pm to Pope Lane, close to the Bargain Booze shop.

Police and paramedics attended and found a man with a stab wound to his torso.

A spokeswoman for the police said the victim’s injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

Blog Preston understands the man had been living in a tent near to the scene of the incident.

No arrests have been made at this stage.
