Police have explained an incident that took place off New Hall Lane on Thursday morning.
Eyewitnesses said a man was found covered in blood inside a pick-up truck in Maitland Street.
Preston Police attended the scene at 6.40am on Thursday (30 August) and found a man with a head injury inside a recovery truck in the road.
He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment and has now been released.
A police spokeswoman said: “Enquiries have revealed that the man had fallen over previous to being found. There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.”

An eyewitness told Blog Preston: “There was a big presence in Maitland Street with police cars and ambulances.
“We thought someone had been stabbed as there was so much blood everywhere in the truck.
“Glad to hear the guy is okay now though.”
