Witnesses sought after Bamber Bridge crash saw car land in field

Police have issued a witness appeal after a crash in Bamber Bridge.

During the early hours of Wednesday (11 July) morning a driver lost control of hi car and collided with a stone wall.

The incident at 6.10am saw a Volkswagen Golf R found in a field off Church Road, off the roundabout at the M6 junction 29.

South Ribble Police say the driver, a 19-year-old man, had leg fractures and internal injuries.

The passenger, a 19-year-old woman, received a broken arm.

Both remain in Royal Preston Hospital in a stable condition.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service had to cut them free from the wreckage of the car.

Sergeant Steve Wignall of Lancashire Police’s Road Unit, said: “We know the area was busy around the time of the collision and are appealing to those witnesses to come forward with any information they may have if they haven’t already.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log number 207 of 11th July.
