A Paralympic swimmer from Preston has been recognised for her world-beating achievements.
Stephanie Slater MBE is now an honorary fellow of the University of Central Lancashire.
During graduation ceremonies at Preston Guild Hall she was given the prize for the significant contribution to the world of sport.
Stephanie represented Great Britain in 2009 and joined the British Swimming Intensive Training Centre.
She suffered a serious army injury and became a Paralympic swimmer.

Gold and silver medals followed at the Paralympic Gardens, World Championships and Commonwealth Games.
Now retired Stephanie was awarded an MBE for her services to sport.
Stephanie joined more than 3,500 students during the award ceremonies throughout Preston city centre in the last week.
