Preston’s new Market Hall is hosting entertainment throughout the summer.
From exploring bees to a record fair there’s a host of different events to attract shoppers towards the new Indoor Market.
Situated under the cover of the Outdoor Market canopy there’s two event spaces at either end of the glazed Market Hall.
Here’s a run through of what Preston City Council say they have planned:
During Saturday 28 July there’s a 12-hour danceathon taking place to Irish music.
Raising money for St Catherine’s Hospice and the Whelan Joyce School of Irish Dance there will be a jig or two, and the chance to join in and help them.
You can sponsor the dance troupe on the day or via their Justgiving page.

On Saturday 4 August there’s three different events across the market.
Bees is a walkabout performance and art installation all about bees, giving you the chance to explore their world and have a multi-sensory experience.
Down the other end of the market will be a free-standing plywood installation called The Pentagon.
Sure to be a hit with children it allows them to draw and use paint pens to create a giant piece of artwork for the city.
And for the music fans in the city there’s the MASA Record Fair under the Fish Market canopy with vinyl, CDs, tapes and music memorabilia.

Later in August and The Story Tent and The Rat Race are taking over the Market on Saturday 18 August.
Story Tent contains a very sweet little old man, who tells stories about all kinds of interesting objects.
Rat Race is a surreal and darkly funny commentary on modern life, told by rats in an enormou block of cheese and is suitable for all the family.
Further events for September are due to be announced soon, as well as those taking place for the Lancashire Encounter on Friday 21 September to Sunday 23 September.
