Preston’s junior parkrun is marking its second anniversary on Sunday.

Taking place every Sunday the free 2km run is open to four to 14-year-olds.

More than 40 young runners take part in Avenham Park.

Volunteer Ian Scott said: “Over the last two years the junior parkrunners have run 8,008km, and 951 runners have improved on their times to create personal bests.”

The run is the junior version of the popular Saturday morning parkruns.

You can register your child via the parkrun website.
