A family fun day marked the official opening of a new development in Penwortham.

The 30 homes at The Maltings in Hill Road South were declared open by the Mayor of Penwortham.

Councillor Keith Martin cut the ribbon and more than 50 people attended the summer BBQ.

South Ribble Cllr Martin said: “It’s been a brilliant day here at The Maltings opening these new affordable homes to the community. Penwortham is a fantastic place to live and I’m really pleased to see this development open up to local people first and help grow the community.”

Linden Homes put on the event and say a number of the new homes are classed as affordable with help to buy schemes available.

Associate sales director Sian Pitt said: “We are delighted to be officially launching The Maltings, which is a new and attractive residential development, ideally located in the vibrant community of Penwortham.

“It was great to see the Mayor and members of the local community having fun enjoying the great weather we are having and finding out more about Linden Homes.”
