The bar and venue at a South Ribble village club house has reopened.

New Longton Sports and Social Club has recently undergone a full refurbishment, although it remained open and trading throughout the work.

Based in Chapel Lane the club is used by New Longton Cricket Club, New Longton Rovers as well as pool, bingo and poker teams.

Councillor John Rainsbury said: “The village club and its associated groups are at the heart of the community catering for hundreds of individuals of all ages, while helping raise money for charitable causes.

“The refurbishment is impressive and the investment will help the club and its associated groups go from strength to strength.”
