A motorcyclist has died following a serious collision in Hoghton.
Police were called around 8pm yesterday (July 22) after reports of an accident on Blackburn Old Road.
A Yamaha motorbike, travelling in convoy with a second Yamaha, had been involved in a collision with a Fiat Punto at the junction with Station Road.
The rider, a 35-year-old man from Blackburn, suffered a number of serious injuries and was pronounced dead at hospital.
His pillion rider, a 26-year-old woman, suffered a serious injury to her hip and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Punto, a 20-year-old woman from Blackburn, suffered minor facial injuries.

The road was closed for more than four hours while accident investigators attended the scene.
Police are appealing for information and are urging any witnesses to come forward.
Sgt Phil Baxendale, of Lancashire Police, said: “These are tragic circumstances and my thoughts are with the rider, his family and friends at this time.
“We are keen to trace any witnesses who might be able to assist with our enquiries.
“We believe the Yamaha bikes were travelling in convoy. If you saw both motorcycles travelling on Blackburn Old Road in the moments before the collision, please get in touch.”
