Moor Park observatory to host monthly open evenings

Anyone with an eye on the sky is being invited to visit the city’s observatory.

Jeremiah Horrocks Observatory in Moor Park is to be opened up to the public for monthly observing nights.

Preston and District Astronominal Society is bring in the regular events after a successful tour and open day in July.

First observing night is Thursday 20 September from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

It will then be every third Thursday of the month until April.

The 16inch Dobsonian telescope and a number of other telescopes will be used.

There’s no booking needed and it’s free to attend.
